The Pyrmont Incinerator, designed in 1935 by Walter Burley Griffin and Eric Milton Nicholls, was left in ruins for decades until the 1990's when, against a tide of public support to restore it, it was demolished to make way for apartments. Prior to its demolition I went onto the site with a camera. The concrete façade was decorated with a relief designs, Sadly another historic building, which could have been repurposed and become a destination within Sydney's landscape, has been lost.
